Today I was talking with a close friend of mine and suddenly realized that we had been friends for exactly a year today. I only happened to remember this, because I know that we became friends on Mother’s Day last year, which was the day I finally got out of that insane relationship I was in. I remember that it was Mother’s Day, because my mom was so happy when I called to tell her that I had finally left him. It’s only been uphill from that exact moment, for the rest of my time in Vegas, I hung out with the few friends I had made and had so much fun. I flew myself home shortly after, got an apartment alone and have been living freely ever since. Something changed in me when I got back, I was a different person, after not being able to be myself or do what I wanted and having to constantly defend myself and choices, always walking on eggshells for an important couple young years of my life, I just wanted to do me. So I did. And that’s all I’ve been doing since. Whatever the fuck I want. Get cake.
